BiNDU 200 RYT
Teacher Transformation Course
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” — Gandhi
Be the transformation you wish to see in the world and in your students.
For the third year in a row studio BiNDU will present a five-part 200 hr. RYT course for the yoga student now wishing to become a teacher of the ancient transformative science of Yoga.
This course is known for the way it shifts the "teacher training" paradigm.
Instead of simply giving technical knowledge to learn and practice,
our vision is for a more cohesive approach to the presentation of the material so that
the different aspects of
a typical training: asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy, etc.
actually interweave in a way that you will clearly understand the connectivity that runs through
the entire Yoga universe/practice as a whole.
You will also receive methods and teachings that will allow you to transform
that knowledge into an authentic living expression of your daily life.
By doing this you will truly begin to teach as a teacher and not an instructor.
In addition, the teachings will all coalesce around creating an authentic and
powerful householder practice rooted in the teachings of Shaiva Tantra.

Mark entered the arena of Yoga in tandem with martial arts, at the tail end of a career as a heavy metal vocalist.
From his beginning studies in Philadelphia he moved to San Francisco. There he spent six years diving deep into practice and study, guided by a succession of intelligent, gifted teachers in a variety of styles and his own daily study and practice. This led to his entry into an initiatory study of non-dual Shaiva Tantra, Indian philosophy and meditation with Paul Muller-Ortega in 2007. Since then, Mark has been devoted to an ongoing meditation practice and scriptural study. Mark offers meditation and Indian philosophy courses in Japan.
In 2008 he made a Hanuman leap to Kyoto, Japan, where he is the co-owner and Yoga Director of studio BiNDU, nestled in the quiet back streets of a cultural center of Kyoto.
In his 20 years investigating the myriad practices and teachings of Yoga, his practice and teaching have become an ever-evolving organic expression of his heart intention to assist people in re-discovering ease in their body, stillness in their mind and the inherent creative power and beauty of the awakened heart.
For Mark, Yoga is Life, and Life is both an experiential practice and a practice of relationship. It is through our experiences that we have the moment to moment opportunity to improve our relationship to ourselves, our environment and others. Through that growth, without effort we begin to experience ourselves as more grounded, spacious and at home in our own precious Life.
