アライアンスにおいてE-RYT500に認定。2017年7月31日、マークはニーラカンタ・メディテーションの正統継承伝道師になりました。ニーラカンタ・メディテーションはPaul Muller-Ortega[ポール・モラー=オルテガ]が教えられている非ニ元論タントラシヴァ派のシステムの一つの部分です。ポールはヒンドゥー・タントラにおいて高名な学者であり、人生かけての瞑想実践者でもあり、Blue Throat Yogaの創業者です。

 

21年間に渡って数々のハタ・ヨガを探究し、知性が高く才能ある様々なスタイルの先生たちに軒並みに指導を受け、毎日の自主勉強と実践も続けている。マークの教える内容は、自身の経験と学びの飽くなき同化の集大成です。各クラスでは、哲学的な考え方を織り交ぜ、肉体を動かす際にも日々の生活にもやってくる挑戦に対して、哲学の実践的な応用法を提供します。

Mark holds the Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 level certification. He is also an Authorized Teacher of Neelakantha Meditation.

 

Mark has spent 21 years investigating the myriad practices of Hatha Yoga, guided by a succession of intelligent, gifted teachers in a variety of styles, and his own daily study and practice. Mark's teaching has become an ever-evolving assimilation of his experience and study. He weaves philosophical teachings into each class with a focus of practical application for approaching the challenges of both the physical practice and day to day life.

  • メディカル氣功 (静) | Static Qigong
  • White Tiger Qigong メディカル氣功の静的な練習です。
    動きは少なく、静かにエネルギーとの対話を楽しみます。
     
     
    We open each class with a simple breathing technique and visualization sequence, followed by a set of 12 warm-up movements to prepare or “wake up” the Qi (chi) in your body. We will then do a classic standing practice of Zhan Zhuang, “standing on a post.” This is a practice often done in a completely static posture. As we hold a posture, we use breath and awareness to encourage the muscles and surrounding connective tissue to let go of habitual tension. By doing this, bit by bit we can create a state of relaxation throughout the entire body.

    Class will end with a standing meditation. In this meditation we consolidate the Qi that has been stimulated and gathered into the deep core of the body's energetic center, called the Dan Tian, the “Sea of Qi.”

    This practice is stimulating for the entire physiology of the body in a gentle way that activates and refreshes the organs and the lines of connective tissue - the fascia - that flow between them. At the same time, it enhances and supports a freer energetic movement of Qi through the energetic channels, the Meridians, which correlate with these same fascial lines of connectivity.

    Even if you have never practiced Qigong before, you are welcome to attend this class.


  • レストラティブ・ヴィニャーサ・ヨーガ | Restorative Vinyasa Yoga

    この夜のクラスでは、肉体面と思考面、感情面にその日一日のうちにできた緊張や突っぱり感を解放することで、深い癒しの眠りへの準備をします。簡単なプラーナーヤーマ(呼吸の拡張)から始めて、思考をすっきりとさせて、楽に集中できるようにします。ちょうど良いテンポのヨーガアーサナは、呼吸と動きをつなぎ合わせることを焦点に、体を伸ばして強化してという簡潔な組み合わせで進みます。これによって、心身の深いところに残っている緊張を表面化させます。そこで、回復のポーズとプラーナヤーマをして、表面化した緊張を 消散させることで体と心を深い休息の眠りへと誘う準備とします。

     

    *All levels are welcome / Especially good for people who are new to Yoga

     

    This evening class is to release the physical, mental, and emotional tensions of the day and prepare for deep and healing sleep. We begin with simple pranayama [breath expansion] to refresh and bring an easeful focus to the mind. Mid-tempo yogasana centers on linking breath and movement in simple combinations of stretching and strengthening. This will help bring residual tension in the entire body-mind to the surface. We then end with a restorative pose and pranayama to allow that tension to disperse and prepare the body and mind for deep, restful sleep.


  • 体セラピー | Align to Heal Yoga
  • 体の適切な配置と筋肉の働きを知って、さらに健康的な姿勢と体にある不快感を解消しましょう。
    不快感の原因となっている自分の姿勢の癖をまずは理解すること、そしてそれを変えることを焦点にクラスを進めます。ヨーガが初めての方も、怪我をしない安全な体の使い方を覚えて楽しくヨーガを続けていきましょう。怪我をしている方も歓迎します。
     
    Learn proper placement of your body to create a more healthy posture and ease discomfort. Focus will be on understanding your postural habits that keep causing discomfort and changing them. Students with injuries are also welcome to attend.

  • ビンドゥ・クラス (ハタ ヨーガ+瞑想) Bindu Class (Hatha Yoga+Meditation)
  •  *1年以上の経験者

    ヨーガアーサナ, プラーナーヤーマ, ムドラー, バンダ, 瞑想全てを盛り込んだクラスです。より深いところに貯められている慢性的なストレスや筋肉の緊張をほぐし始めます。一週間終わりにすっきりして英気を養うのに、また新しい週を始める準備にもってこいのクラスです。

     

    A comprehensive practice of yogasana, pranayama, mudra, bandha and meditation to begin to release more deeply held chronic stress and muscular tension. This class is a fantastic way to refresh and enliven yourself after the previous week, or prepare yourself to enter the new week.


  • メディカル氣功 (動) | Dynamic Qigong
  • White Tiger Qigongが伝えるメディカル氣功
    動物の型で臓器に働きかけます。
     
    その季節にあった動物を選び、2ヶ月に1つの型のペースで練習していきます。
     
    In this class, we will focus on one of the forms from the 5 Animal Frolics as taught in White Tiger Qigong. From October 7 to November 24, we will practice Tiger Hunts Its Prey. This form is excellent for increasing ease of breathing and eliminating toxins that have built up in the organs. It is also fantastic for improving your natural grace in everyday movements.
     
    We begin with an opening breath and visualization set, followed by a set of warm-up movements to stimulate the movement of Qi (chi) in the body, and prepare us for the particular form of the 5 Animal Frolics that we will practice. We will then do a Dynamic Qigong practice using synchronization of breath with combinations of movements in which we will actively squeeze out organs and wring out Meridians to clear toxins from the physiology of the body. At times we will also use various visualizations to assist in clearing out emotional and mental blockages as well. Class will end with a short standing meditation to consolidate the Qi that has been simulated and gathered. The entire practice is done standing.

    This practice is quite stimulating for the entire physiology of the body in an active way as our intention is brought to bear to clear out toxins from the organs and increase elasticity along the lines of connective tissue (fascia) that flow between them. This active practice also strengthens and stabilizes the energetic movement of Qi that occurs along the Meridians that correlate with these same fascial lines of connectivity.
